After building proprietary technology for the capital markets for over a decade, Trillium Labs was spun out of Trillium Trading in 2014 allowing Labs to grow its product offering to include publicly available products like Surveyor, it’s award winning, trade surveillance platform. Since its inception, Trillium Labs has answered the needs of some of the most challenging questions in the financial industry. Trillium Labs is comprised of a diverse group of thought-leaders and executors who all share a passion for solving problems in the fintech space. With backgrounds in engineering, biology, physics, mathematics, anthropology, and computer science, each member of the team offers a unique perspective as we build solutions in big data analytics, high performance / low latency computing, distributed systems, and market abuse detection.

The Role

Trillium Labs is looking for a UI Developer to contribute to our award-winning product Surveyor Trading Surveillance platform as well as developing a new set of products to expand our offering.

About you

You are a passionate UI Developer with an affinity for high-performance software. . We are looking for someone who enjoys the agility and efficiency of a small but incredibly effective team. We all work together using the Agile Software Development principles, so communication and leadership skills are paramount.

You should have at least 3 years as a UI Developer and have demonstrated experience being part of a team that developed a product from the ground up. You should have experience and comfort with interviewing users and stakeholders to fully understand their business problems. You should also have experience creating a comprehensive use-case document based on your interviews and have developed design standards to support those use-cases. We base our fundamental processes on Agile Software Development, so experience with this method is a huge plus.

 

Skills and Qualifications

  • College graduate (min GPA 3.3) with a major in Computer Science or related field
  • 3 years of experience as a UI Developer
  • Extensive experience working closely with users and stakeholders to understand their business requirements and use-cases
  • Experience working side-by-side with software developers who ship quality code within UI/UX standards
  • You have a demonstrable work portfolio
  • You’re an expert in UI/UX front-end software development running on Windows using Win32, GDI
  • You have experience in custom controls development
  • You’ll be able to join our team and let us know the UI/UX tools that will help us accomplish our goals
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ambitious developer who can work autonomously on a high-performing team

What sets you apart

  • You’ve helped build a large-scale product from inception to delivery
  • Prototype development experience in at least one programming language / software package
  • Familiarity with storing and analyzing usage statistics to make informed design decisions
  • Experience working on a cross-functional Agile Software Development team
  • Familiarity with (or least interest in) capital market related software
